Let There be Light – St Ives Kitchen
Sure, the cathedral windows in this large and light family kitchen are an artwork in themselves – but they’re not the only star of the show here. How gorgeous is the island bench?
Our clients requested a marble-look slab with unique veins and natural variations which would ‘run’ across the benchtop and side waterfall. But because it’s in engineered stone – we used Quantum Quartz Calcutta Primo – we’ve achieved the luxury and drama of marble but with less expense and off-putting maintenance.
Galit explains why you should consider engineered stone. “Generally engineered stone is stronger and harder, making it more scratch and scorch resistant than marble,” she says. “It’s not entirely fallible though, it can chip if you get unlucky and drop something on the edges but this can be repaired.”This beautiful bench looks like marble but it can cope with messy family dinners, the morning rush when it comes to prepping the kid’s lunch boxes, and long chats with guests over drinks on the weekend. It’s a luxe feature but totally practical too.
Other features we love in this heavenly kitchen? We have installed our on trend Gun metal kitchen mixer & Gun Metal sink. We also love the light Timber flooring which is not only super practical, it adds warmth too.
