A sit-on-top basin or above-counter basin is a basin that is placed on top of your bathroom vanity. It is not recessed into the vanity nor is it an under-mount basin.

We have a beautiful range of above-counter basins, with something for every style of bathroom and all tastes. Some bathroom basins are higher edged and some have lower edges. You can also choose between a round, oval, rectangular or uneven shape for a more organic look.

When choosing a basin for your bathroom, you’ll need to take the dimensions of your vanity into consideration. At Just In Place, we custom make our timber vanities, so if you’ve fallen in love with a special basin, you can design your vanity to suit it.

Another thing to keep in mind when choosing the right basin bowl is the tapware style. If you choose a higher basin, you’ll need to either choose a tall basin mixer or wall mounted taps.
