Wormy Chestnut is a blend of species growing in Victoria, Australia. The characteristics of the timber are formed by forest fires, drought, insects, and harsh winds.
The name comes from the black lines – ‘worm’ paths in the timber, creating a very versatile pattern. Every piece of timber is different and has lots of variations and therefore makes it a very unpredictable timber in terms of the look.
It is a statement hardwood and much-loved timber by architects and designers.
