Two in One – Combined Bathroom & Laundry in Terrey Hills
When space is limited- combining a laundry and a bathroom makes sense in so many ways – both rooms are wet areas and both require some sort of work and attention in regards to trade, design, and fittings.
The question is ..– how do you fit a shower, toilet, vanity, washing machine, dryer, and adequate storage into one space?
So, in order to make it all work, a little forward planning is required.
The main key area is mastering the art of concealment and making sure the design elements will flow between those two combined spaces.
In this beautiful bathroom not only have we made sure that all storage and bulky appliances will be hidden behind built-in, cabinetry and bi-fold door, but also repeated the elements of joinery color, stone tops, and tiles. (the herringbone style splashback is mirroring the big herringbone pattern laid as a feature wall.
Dressing up the room with some interesting elements and greenery makes it picture perfect.
Our tips for a combined bathroom/ laundry:
Store the washing machine and dryer side by side or stacked on top of each other in a tall cupboard – if stacking appliances, choose a front-loading washing machine.
In small spaces- a combined washer/dryer will free up room for more storage.
2. Storage and De-Clutter:
Labeled baskets are great for the overall look and de-clutter of your space.
The same goes for canisters for storage of cleaning items such as washing powder etc..
Pull-out basket/ drawer dirty clothes.
3. Allocating benchtop space for folding and sorting clean items.
4. Pull out ironing boards if you can afford the space.
