A Timber and Rattan Floor Standing Vanity Shines in this Tranquil Ensuite
When it comes to creating the ensuite bathroom you've always dreamed of, the element you can rely on to elevate your space into something truly special is the vanity.
While wall-hung vanities remain extremely popular for their streamlined look and practicality, floor-standing vanities (vanities with legs, also known as free standing vanities) are being reinvented as a stylish and polished option for those after a more classic look with a contemporary twist.
For this ensuite, we designed a custom-made, floor standing vanity in Tasmanian oak, specifically to add the charm of traditional furniture into the mix. While the vanity has the feel of a classic piece, by keeping the design simple with clean lines and natural materials, it also has a light, contemporary freshness to it.
The rattan door inserts add texture to the timber and a nod to coastal style, and the simple, white sit-on-top basin gives the vanity a perfect balance between a timeless and modern aesthetic for this calm and cool ensuite.
Large format terrazzo-look tiles add a natural, earthy feel to the ensuite, and the neutral tones add just the right amount of warmth to the space, complementing both the sage green feature tiles and the brushed brass tapware.
A pair of beautiful vertical heated towel rails that mirror the vertical lines of the V Groove wall add some sophistication, while also being an extremely practical choice for everyday living.
The free standing bath was chosen to add a sense of luxury, its clean lines contrast beautifully with the textured tiles.
Practical can be beautiful
Functionality and storage were key to the design of this Tasmanian Oak vanity, while not compromising on the classic aesthetic. free standing vanity free standing vanities vanity with legs vanities with legs
While still offering all the benefits of a wall-mounted cabinet including slightline of the floor space underneath for the illusion of spaciousness and of course, very easy cleaning access, a floor standing vanity might be the perfect addition to your ensuite.
The details can make all the difference
A beautiful arched mirror cabinet with brushed brass trim was cleverly recessed into the wall to provide a generous amount of storage space. Recessed mirror cabinets are placed into the wall cavity so that the mirrored doors sit almost flush with the wall, avoiding the cabinet overhanging the sink and giving the space a very streamlined, yet glamorous look.
With our elegant spout and mixer tap in brushed brass adding a golden glimmer, they also tie in perfectly with the arched mirror, shower rail and vertical towel rails to pull the whole ensuite design together and ultimately reach a fine balance between simplicity and interest, traditional and freshness for this tranquil ensuite.
