Our team handles the design, we have a fantastic showroom and can supply everything you need for your bathroom, and we carry out and project manage the entire build, with our own team of experienced trades. You deal with one team from start to finish.
On top of that, we also make our own custom vanities and mirror cabinets right here in Sydney. That means the centrepiece of your bathroom, the joinery, is designed and built by us to suit your specific bathroom. It is a genuine point of difference that our clients notice and come back for.
What a Just In Place renovation includes
A full bathroom renovation with Just In Place covers the complete scope, from the first site visit through to the final clean and handover.
On the design and supply side, we provide: initial design consultation and floor plan, tile selection from our Northern Beaches showroom, tapware selection across our full range of finishes, basin, bath and toilets selections, custom vanity and mirror cabinet design (we also work with a range of excellent suppliers if you prefer something off the shelf), and all product supply and delivery to site.
On the construction side, our trade team handles: full demolition and removal, waterproofing to Australian standards, tiling to floors and walls, all plumbing, including moving fixtures if the layout is changing, electrical work where required, installation of all fixtures and fittings, and final inspection and handover.
If you want to use your own builder or manage your own trades, we can also supply design and products only. We are flexible about how much or how little of the project you want us to run.

What does a bathroom renovation cost in Sydney?
Renovation costs vary significantly depending on the size of the bathroom, whether the layout is changing, the quality of materials, and the complexity of the trades work involved. As a general guide for a standard 4 to 8 square metre bathroom in Sydney:
Budget renovation ($10,000 to $20,000): Cosmetic update, keeping the existing layout and tiling. New tapware, a new vanity and fittings over the existing plumbing positions. Suitable for bathrooms that are structurally sound but dated in finish.
Mid-range renovation ($20,000 to $40,000): Full strip-out and rebuild with quality tiles and fixtures, custom or semi-custom joinery, and possible minor layout changes. This is where most Sydney bathroom renovations land.
Premium renovation ($40,000 and above): High-end materials, bespoke joinery, significant layout and structural changes, or larger bathrooms. Imported tiles, custom stone work, frameless screens and multiple pieces of custom solid timber joinery typically sit in this bracket.

We provide a fixed quote before any work starts, so there are no surprises once construction begins. We also recommend building a 10 to 15 per cent contingency into your budget for anything uncovered during demolition. Older Sydney homes, in particular, can reveal issues with waterproofing or pipework that are not visible until the walls come off.
Our process
We have completed hundreds of bathroom renovations across Sydney. Here is how a typical project runs from first contact to finished bathroom.
- Initial consultation at your home (week 1): One of our designers visits your bathroom to assess the space, understand what you want to change, and talk through what is realistic within your budget. We look at the existing layout, plumbing positions, window placement, and any constraints that will shape the design options. Following this we can usually provide you with a quote for the labour part of your project. If you’re happy to proceed we can then go ahead and book in your build date.
- Design and product selection (weeks 2 to 4): You come into the showroom for your first design session where we refine and perfect your floor plan. We then move on to the fun part! Selecting your your tiles, tapware, basin, toilet and any other fixtures as well as designing your perfect vanity and mirror cabinet. We guide you through all the choices and make sure everything works together visually, practically and stays within your budget. (Keep in mind that you can source as much or as little through Just in Place as you wish!)
- Quote and scheduling (weeks 3 to 5): Once the design and products are confirmed, we provide a detailed quote for all your fittings, fixtures and tiles. At this stage you can make tweaks and changes until you’re 100% happy with everything you;ve chosen.
- Construction (typically 3 to 5 weeks on site): Demolition, waterproofing, tiling, plumbing, electrical and fit-off happen in sequence. We manage the trade schedule and keep you informed of progress throughout. Most clients continue living in the house during the build. We keep the site tidy and the disruption contained.
- Final touches and handover: Once all trades are complete, we do a full inspection with you. Any items on a defects list are addressed before we consider the job done. You should walk away feeling that every detail has been finished properly, not just close enough.

We have been designing and building bathrooms in Sydney for over fifteen years. Our completed projects include small powder rooms in inner-city apartments, full bathroom suites in Northern Beaches family homes, master en-suites in heritage houses on the North Shore, and everything in between.
Because we supply our own custom joinery, our renovations tend to attract clients who want a bathroom that looks genuinely designed rather than assembled from standard parts. How long does a bathroom renovation take in Sydney?
The on-site build for a standard bathroom typically takes three to five weeks from demolition to handover. The planning phase (design, product selection and quoting) adds another four to six weeks before the build starts. So from the first conversation to the finished bathroom, allow eight to twelve weeks in total. Larger or more complex projects may take longer, and we will give you a specific timeline at the quoting stage.
Do you manage the tradespeople?
Yes. We coordinate the full trade schedule (waterproofer, tiler, plumber and electrician) through our own network of experienced Sydney trades. You do not need to find or manage them. We have worked with most of our trades for many years and trust them to do the job to the standard our clients expect.
What is included in a full bathroom renovation?

Can you renovate a small bathroom or powder room?
Yes. Small bathrooms and powder rooms make up a significant portion of our project work. A well-designed small bathroom is often more challenging than a large one; every decision matters more when space is limited. Our designers are experienced at making compact bathrooms work hard without feeling cramped.
Do you supply the products or do we source them ourselves?
We supply everything. Tiles from our Northern Beaches showroom, tapware from our full range, basin and bath from our product collection, and custom joinery from our own workshop. You select every product in person with our team guiding you, so you know exactly what you are getting before a single thing is ordered.
What makes Just In Place different from a standard bathroom builder?
Most bathroom renovation companies either supply products or do construction; they do not do both. We do both, which means the design, product selection and build are coordinated by one team rather than handed off between parties. We also make our own custom timber vanities and mirror cabinets, which are typically the most distinctive and personal element of a bathroom renovation. That combination (single-point coordination plus in-house custom joinery) is not something most Sydney renovation businesses offer.
Can I use my own builder and just buy the products from you?
Yes. A number of our clients work with their own builder and come to us for design guidance and product supply only. Our showroom is open to trade and retail customers, and we are happy to work alongside your own building team. Talk to us about what you need and we will find the right arrangement.
Do you renovate apartments as well as houses?
Yes. We have extensive experience with apartment bathroom renovations across Sydney, including strata buildings where additional approvals and noise restrictions apply.
